BEM awarded to Lynda Hesketh

We are delighted to report that Lynda Hesketh, the chair and founder member of Chester Adult Phab Club, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List.

On being informed of this award in recognition of her services to Chester Adult Phab, Lynda said, “I am delighted to be awarded this honour and it is a proud moment for me.”

Lynda will be presented with a medal by the Lord Lieutenant at a local ceremony and invited to a Royal Garden Party next summer. Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters “BEM”.


Chester Adult Phab Club were also presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups, in June 2012.

Lynda wishes to thank National Phab for the remarkable 27 year journey she has experienced during her voluntary role with Chester Phab Club: “Phab is an amazing charity enriching and transforming many lives”.
