Phab’s Fanfare for Christmas

Phab’s Fanfare for Christmas

We are so grateful to the wonderful actors who gave their time to present readings at the Phab Carol Concert performed by the London Orpheus Choir and Meridian Voices at St James’s Church Piccadilly shortly before Christmas.

Amy Beth Hayes, Ian Lavender, Hayley Mills and Michael Pennington delighted the audience with their unique choices of seasonal readings, combined with a perfect blend of both well-known carols for choir and audience and lesser known and very beautiful pieces from the choir and soloists, Bryony Purdue and George Clifford. Richard Jenkinson conducted the combined choirs with style and gusto and we were also very fortunate to have the talents of Ian Le Grice at the organ.

Mik Scarlet, journalist and broadcaster, generously gave his time to present the evening, taking over this role from Phab’s much loved late President, Ed Stewart who so sadly died in early January last year. During his welcome speech, John Corless (Chairman of Phab) read a personal message to the audience from Anita Dobson, who succeeded Ed as President in May but was unable to attend due to her current appearance in the long running musical “Wicked”.

The evening was a festive Christmas treat for the large and very appreciative audience who have already made a note in their diaries for 14th December 2017!
