The Charity

Phab's aim is to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community. Phab celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2007, having been established in 1957.

What Phab Does

Phab creates opportunities for children and adults of all abilities to enjoy life together by …
  • Supporting a network of around 180 clubs throughout England and Wales for all age-ranges, offering activities and holidays which members can share and enjoy together.
  • Promoting and encouraging self-confidence and independence in young people of all abilities through a range of diverse projects.
  • Funding special residential breaks – inclusive experiences for disabled and non-disabled children and young people to share in a full range of adventurous outdoor activities at fully accessible activity centres offering specialist tuition.
  • Providing specially equipped and fully accessible holiday units at an award-winning beach site in Dorset at affordable weekly rates.
  • Organising national and regional events for Phab club members and supporters to enjoy together and to promote the Phab philosophy of inclusion.

Phab has received a very generous grant of £5,000 from the Santander Foundation’s Community Plus Initiative to help fund our Residential Projects Programme this year.  This much appreciated grant will make a real difference to the number of places that Phab is able to provide for children and young people with disabilities on these very special, challenging and fun Projects at fully accessible outdoor activity centres in the Lake District, Derbyshire and the New Forest.

Guy Watt We are thrilled to learn that Guy is now on the road to recovery! He was due to run the London Marathon for us in 2014, but recently suffered a very serious car accident. Despite many broken bones, and some dangerous complications, Guy pulled through and was this week allowed home to start the long process of rehabilitation. In a phone call earlier today he told us that his marathon training meant he had a very high level of fitness at the time of the accident and medics are convinced that this has contributed to his positive response to treatment. Despite being unable to run for us, Guy has in fact doubled his fundraising target, through the generosity and goodwill of his many friends and supporters. Many thanks to you all. Guy, we continue to wish you, Cathy, Bailey and Bronte all the best for a very speedy recovery.
