This spring has seen Phab deliver a range of inclusive experiences, bringing disabled and non-disabled people together to try new activities, build confidence and spend time as a community.
A reel-y good day
We kicked things off at the end of May with our first ever Phab Fishing Day at Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire.
35 people from Phab Clubs and community groups joined us for a day on the water, with opportunities to try fishing, canoeing and power boating. The day was delivered in partnership with the British Disabled Angling Association and Anyone Can.
With record-breaking May temperatures, it was a great setting for people to try something new, spend time outdoors and share the experience together.

Up up and away
Just a few days later, our Adventure Flying programme got underway, with events taking place in both the South and the North of England.
Across both days, more than 100 people attended, with dozens of participants taking part in flights for the first time. For many, this meant not just being in the air, but having the opportunity to take control of the aircraft.
A number of families shared the impact these experiences had. One parent said:
“Seeing my little boy happy and confident was the best. It was an amazing experience and very inclusive.”
These events were coordinated with the support of Freedom in the Air, who help make Adventure Flying possible. Flights in the South were delivered with Redhill Aviation Flight Training, and in the North with LAC Flying School, whose teams of pilots and support staff supported participants throughout.

Scaling new heights… because adventure waits for no one!
Our next adventure, an outdoor climbing experience in Cumbria, is just around the corner!
Creating inclusive opportunities like these is what we’re all about at Phab. With the support of partners and supporters, we can continue to offer more Adventures that enable disabled and non-disabled people to experience joy and build confidence.
