Celebrating 60 Years of Phab 2017

A special celebration to mark Phab’s 60th year took place in August at the very spot where the idea of Phab was born– the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in the New Forest.   Supporters, volunteers, Club members, donors, staff and Trustees toasted Phab and all who had contributed to its success over the years in the lovely surroundings of Avon Tyrrell and enjoyed meeting children, young people and volunteers taking part in one of our Phab Projects at the Centre.

John Corless, Chairman of Phab, presented 60 year Volunteer Certificates to Alain Paver (Berkshire Phab) and Lorna Stephens (Hounslow Phab), and the Princess Galitzine Award Certificate to Barrie and Beverley Ames of Woking Phab, along with their 40 and 30 year Certificates.  And a 60th Anniversary Cake was cut by Mik Scarlet, Vice President of Phab, and Merle Harding who helped Phab founder Mary Robinson organise the very first Avon Tyrrell Project in 1957.

Chairman, John Corless, said “We are so pleased to welcome all our supporters, including volunteers with us since those early days, and to be able to celebrate Phab’s very special Diamond Jubilee together.”
