On Saturday 9 May, we were delighted to host our Ski Day (South) at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.
A total of 40 skiers took part, including 12 sit-skiers and 28 stand-skiers and the day was a resounding success. Phab members left feeling proud, excited and happy, with many overcoming personal fears and achieving new milestones. There were countless highlights throughout the day with memorable experiences created for everyone involved.
One particularly special moment saw a Mini Phab member from Epsom take to the snow in a sit ski for the first time, after his brother had finished skiing. It was a very special and emotional moment for everyone involved.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our fantastic volunteers, Mims and Nick, who assisted with stand-skiing on the snow. The Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) instructors and volunteers were equally outstanding, offering one-to-one support, encouragement and reassurance throughout the day. Their dedication ensured that every participant felt safe, confident and included. We were also thrilled to meet Paralympic champion Sean Rose!
Overall, the day was one of our most rewarding yet, filled with confidence-building, smiles and shared success.

Members from four Phab clubs and three community groups took part in Ski Day (South), including Uckfield Phab, Epsom Mini Phab, Epsom & Ewell Phab, Worthing Phab, Active8, Berkshire Banshees and Me2 Club.
Looking ahead, our Ski Day (North) will take place for members of our Phab community on 5 September at the Snow Centre in Manchester. Next up though, we have our Circus Skills Day (for ages 5-17) on 23 May at Dream Makers in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
